Investigators Examine over $20 Million in Loans by Former Trump Lawyer Cohen


WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Federal prosecutors are focused on over $20 million in loans obtained by U.S. President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen from taxi businesses owned by him and his family, the New York Times reported on Sunday.

The loans are part of an investigation into whether Cohen committed bank and tax fraud, and for possible campaign law violations linked to a $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees Concert Canceled in Oklahoma after Storm Injures 14


(Reuters) - An outdoor concert in Oklahoma featuring 90's boy band favorites Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees was canceled on Saturday after an intense storm struck the area and injured at least 14 people, venue officials said.

"We never want to put our fans in harm's way and with tonight's weather and the injuries from earlier, we have decided to cancel the show and will attempt to reschedule," the Backstreet Boys said on the band's Twitter page.

At Least 19 Killed by Islamists in Northeast Nigeria

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (Reuters) - At least 19 people were killed in an Islamist militant attack on a village in northeast Nigeria in the early hours of Sunday, a survivor of the attack said.

The strike is the latest blow to Nigeria's efforts to defeat insurgencies by the Nigerian Islamist Boko Haram group and Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA).

Nassar was at a federal transfer facility in Oklahoma City after being removed from a penitentiary in Tucson, Arizona, Federal Bureau of Prisons records showed.

Afghanistan Announces Muslim Eid Holiday Ceasefire with Taliban

KABUL (Reuters) - Afghan President Ashraf Ghani announced a ceasefire with Taliban insurgents from Monday to mark the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday, days after fighting in the central city of Ghazni and a northern province.

Taliban sources said their leaders had also provisionally agreed a four-day truce during the annual Islamic feast of sacrifice, though supreme leader Sheikh Haibatullah Akhunzada still had to give his final approval.
