KABUL (Reuters) - A suicide bomber blew himself up outside a voter registration center in the Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday, killing at least 57 people and injuring more than 100, in the most serious attack yet on preparations for elections scheduled for October.

More Rain on the Way for the Central and Eastern Regions of the U.S.

The arrival of another Winter Storm in isolated regions of the Northern Plains and Midwest in the coming days will spark falling temperatures across much of the Northern half of the continental U.S. on Sunday night into Monday morning.
Rain will also continue to push across the Deep South and Southeast on Monday into Tuesday before the band of wet weather will take a northerly turn and push up into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

WASHINGTON/SEOUL (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday the North Korean nuclear crisis was a long way from being resolved, striking a cautious note a day after the North's pledge to end its nuclear tests raised hopes before planned summits with South Korea and the United States.

Flights Cancelled for Engine Inspections

(Reuters) - Southwest Airlines Co <LUV.N> said it canceled about 40 flights on Sunday, or 1 percent of those scheduled, as it inspects engines after last week's deadly accident in Pennsylvania.

The airline said the cancellations were the result of the company's announcement on Tuesday that it would over the next 30 days begin inspecting other CFM56-7B engines, manufactured by CFM International, the engine involved in last week's accident.

Michael Bloomberg to Write $4.5 Million Check for Paris Climate Pact


WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former New York mayor and billionaire Michael Bloomberg said on Sunday he will write a $4.5 million check for this year's U.S. financial commitment to the Paris Climate Agreement.

President Donald Trump last year pulled the United States out of the agreement, making the country the only one opposed to the pact.
