American Airlines, United: Don't Put Separated Migrant Children on Our Flights

 

NEW YORK (Reuters) - American Airlines and United Airlines have asked the federal government to refrain from using their flights to transport migrant children who have been separated from their families.

"The family separation process that has been widely publicized is not at all aligned with the values of American Airlines -- we bring families together, not apart," American Airlines said in a statement on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he would sign something "pre-emptive" soon to solve the problem of immigrant families being separated at the U.S. southern border, which has sparked outrage in the United States and abroad.

It was not immediately clear what Trump, who had previously blamed the family separations on Democrats, would sign.
