Chinese Paper Says Trump Administration Has 'Blood Lust' over Trade

 

BEIJING (Reuters) - The Trump administration has "blood lust" when it comes to pushing its trade agenda against China and wants to "suck the lifeblood" from the Chinese economy, an official state-run newspaper said on Wednesday, stepping up the rhetoric.

U.S. President Donald Trump threatened on Monday to hit $200 billion of Chinese imports with 10 percent tariffs if Beijing retaliated against his previous targeting of $50 billion in imports, aimed at pressuring China to stop stealing U.




Israeli Jets Hit Gaza Hamas Positions after Militants Fire Rockets

 

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli jets struck 25 Islamist Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in the early hours of Wednesday after militants launched rockets and mortar shells at Israeli territory, the military said.

Two Hamas security men were lightly hurt in one air strike in the southern Gaza Strip, residents said.

Rain And Storms Continue in the Deep South and Eastern U.S.

 
By Wednesday morning, much of the states of Texas and Louisiana could be affected by flooding with some parts of these regions seeing up to 10 inches of rain on Tuesday and across Wednesday morning.
 
The large threat of severe weather which stretched from the Central Plains to the Mid-Atlantic Coast on Tuesday will be limited to the Central Plains and the Virginia region where the threat of tornadoes will be low throughout Wednesday.



UK Police See No Indication of Terrorism in London Blast

 

LONDON (Reuters) - British police said on Tuesday a "small number of people" were receiving medical treatment after what they described as a minor explosion likely caused by a battery malfunction at an underground station in north London.

They said there was no immediate indication the incident was linked to terrorism.

Amazon's Alexa Will Now Butler at Marriott Hotels

 

(Reuters) - Amazon.com Inc said on Tuesday that it has partnered with Marriott International Inc to help increase guest access to amenities with Alexa, through its voice-controlled device Echo, in an attempt to expand its presence in the hospitality industry.

Alexa for hospitality would assist in providing services ranging from ordering room service to requesting housekeeping or calling the concierge for dinner recommendations without picking up the phone.
