US to Ban Travel to North Korea

The U.S. State Department will prohibit Americans from traveling to North Korea due to concerns "over the serious risk of arrest and long-term detention under North Korea's system of law enforcement.

The restriction will make U.S. passports invalid for travel to North Korea unless travelers obtain special validation for their visit.

The department said it will publish an official notice of the new rule in the federal register next week and the restriction will be effective 30 days after that.

Movement Encourages Young People to Skip DatingAccording to followers of a popular Indonesian social movement, the country would be better off without dating.

Writer La Ode Munafar, 26, started Indonesia Tanpa Pacaran (Indonesia Without Courtship) nearly two years ago to encourage young Indonesians to skip dating and go straight to marriage.

The group's message seems to have touched a nerve, acquiring over 200,000 Facebook likes and over 300,000 Instagram followers to date.

US, European Authorities Take Down 2 'Darknet' Marketplaces

U.S. and European law enforcement officials say they've shut down two of the most popular marketplaces operating on the so-called darknet that sold drugs, stolen credit cards, weapons and other illicit goods.

The closure of AlphaBay by U.S. authorities this month and of Hansa Market by Dutch police on Thursday followed coordinated law enforcement action that spanned three continents.

Launched in 2014, AlphaBay dominated the growing darknet business in drugs after authorities shuttered another illegal drug bazaar known as Silk Road in 2013.

Body of Surrealist Painter Dali Exhumed for Paternity Test

A team of forensics experts Thursday opened the tomb of famed Spanish surrealist Salvador Dali to take DNA samples to settle a paternity suit.

In a spectacle that most likely would have pleased the eccentric Dali, a crowd stood outside the Dali Theater-Museum in Figueras, Spain, to watch the experts file in.

Officials in Spain say that hair, nails and two long bones have been removed from Dali's embalmed remains to find genetic samples for a paternity test.

Linkin Park Frontman Chester Bennington Found Dead at 41

The lead singer of rock group Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, was found dead in his California home Thursday. He was 41.

According to news reports, Bennington committed suicide by hanging himself in his home. The Los Angeles County Coroner's office is investigating.

Bandmate Mike Shinoda confirmed the news via Twitter, saying, "Shocked and heartbroken, but it's true." He promised an official statement from the band "as soon as we have one.

Strong Quake Rattles Turkey, Greek Islands; at Least 2 Die on KosA powerful earthquake sent a building crashing down on tourists at a bar on the Greek holiday island of Kos and struck panic on the nearby shores of Turkey early Friday, killing two people and injuring some 200 people.

Rescue authorities said two men from Turkey and Sweden died in the collapse at the White Corner Club when the 6.5-magnitude quake struck at about 1:30 a.m., rattling Greek islands and the Turkish Aegean coast in a region where seismic activity is common. The dead vacationers were not named.

Minneapolis Police Chief: Australian Woman 'Didnít Have to Die'The chief of Minneapolis' police department said on Thursday the fatal shooting of an unarmed Australian woman by a junior police officer violated department training and procedures, and that the victim "didn't have to die."

The death of Justine Damond, 40, from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen fired through an open window of a police patrol car, has outraged her relatives and the public in both Australia and the United States. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull called it "shocking" and "inexplicable.
