Bangladesh Arrests Militant Suspect in US Blogger Killing

DHAKA (Reuters) - Bangladesh police said on Sunday they had arrested a suspected leader of an Islamist group wanted in connection with the death in 2015 a U.S. blogger critical of religious extremism.

Deputy police commissioner Masudur Rahman said the man, identified as Mojammel Hossain, 25, head of the intelligence wing of the al Qaeda-inspired militant group Ansar Ullah Bangla Team, was suspected of taking part in the killing of writer Avijit Roy.

A Look at Trump's New Tax Plan

If President Trump's new tax plan - devised with help from the GOP leadership in both the House and Senate as well as with input from Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and others - becomes law in the near future as Republicans hope, it would represent the biggest change to the federal tax code in several decades.

Called the "Tax Cuts and Jobs Act", Trump's and the GOP's 429-page tax overhaul package could spell some tax relief for a broad section of Americans, while for a minority of taxpayers the changes could lead to an increase in their amount owed to the IRS and the wealthiest top-earning Americans stand to benefit the most.
