Chinese Paper Says Boeing, US Agriculture at Risk in Trump Trade War

An influential Chinese state-run newspaper on Thursday again warned that U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing Co. and U.S. agricultural imports could be targets for retaliation in any trade war ushered in by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump, who will be sworn into office Friday, has criticized China's trade practices and threatened to impose punitive tariffs on Chinese imports.

Billionaire investor Wilbur Ross, Trump's choice for commerce secretary, voiced sharp criticism of China's trade practices on Wednesday, telling senators at his confirmation hearing that he would seek new ways of combating them.

Obama to Hold Final Presidential News Conference

U.S. President Barack Obama is holding his final news conference as the American leader on Wednesday, sure to face questions about incoming President-elect Donald Trump as well as his surprise commutation of the prison sentence for an Army intelligence analyst who leaked military documents.

Obama leaves office Friday after eight years in the White House, with Trump taking over when he is sworn in as the country's 45th president at noon on the steps of the U.

Poll: Young Americans Fear They Will Be Worse Off Post-Trump

That's according to a new GenForward poll of Americans aged 18 to 30, which found that the country's young adults are more likely to expect they'll be worse off at the end of Trump's first term than better off.

Military, Police Run Full Dress Rehearsal for Inauguration

Before dawn Sunday, U.S. military personnel met at Joint-Base Andrews to then travel to the Pentagon and from there deploy to the Capitol in buses on a sunny day in Washington, DC.

Metro and Capitol police had shut down streets along what will be the inaugural parade route through downtown Washington and around the Capitol, so that a limited number of military representatives and marching bands could parade through the city as they will on inauguration day this Friday.
