Polite Declines

Everyone has friends or coworkers who always bring in candy, cookies, or other Christmas goodies. Do not feel guilty for politely declining.

3 Healthy Foods That Can Be Toxic If You Eat Too Much Of Them

We all understand that you can have too much of a good thing. Too much sun can damage your skin. Too much sleep can leave you feeling even more tired and depleted. These truths are widely understood. However, some of us may be surprised to discover that you can even have too much healthy food. Some usually healthy foods, when eaten in excess, can actually end up being detrimental to you overall well-being, instead of continuing to contribute to your health. Here are 3 healthy foods that can be toxic if you eat too much of them.

Signs You Might Have a Blood Clot

They are life threatening if not treated. Therefore, any blood clot, or embolism requires immediate medical attention. They can form anywhere in the body but are most commonly found in:

-the leg
-the lungs
-the brain
-the heart

Some people are more prone to blood clots than others.

Beijing Calls Taiwan President's Call to Trump 'a Small Trick'

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Saturday he hopes Beijing's relationship with Washington will not be interfered with or damaged after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's telephone conversation with Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen.

China's foreign minister characterized the conversation as "just a small trick by Taiwan."

China claims democratically ruled Taiwan as part of its territory and has never renounced the use of military force to bring the island under Beijing's control.

Five Early Signs and Symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis

US Unemployment Falls to 4.6 Percent

Employers hired American workers at a brisk pace in November, pushing the unemployment rate down to a nine-year low of 4.6 percent, a reflection of rising confidence in the U.S. economy.

The solid jobs report is yet another signal that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates later this month.

The U.S. Labor Department reported Friday that non-farm payrolls increased by a seasonally adjusted 178,000 last month, which was generally in line with economists' predictions of 180,000.

Retired Marine General Mattis is Trump's Defense Secretary Pick

President-elect Donald Trump has picked retired Marine General James Mattis as his defense secretary, but Mattis will need a change in a federal law to be able to take the job.

Trump, appearing at a postelection victory rally in Cincinnati, Ohio, Thursday night, made his choice official after a day of unconfirmed media reports.

Mattis, who earned the nickname "Mad Dog" because of his comments that he likes to fight, was a commander in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
