WASHINGTON/SEOUL (Reuters) - The United States said on Friday it was imposing its largest package of sanctions to pressure North Korea to give up its nuclear and missile programs, and President Donald Trump warned of a "phase two" that could be "very, very unfortunate for the world" if the steps did not work.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 23, 2018) - Gov. Matt Bevin today declared a statewide emergency in response to continued heavy rainfall events which have caused widespread flooding and damage to critical infrastructure across Kentucky.

Woman in Van Arrested after Striking White House Barrier

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A Tennessee woman driving a white van on Friday intentionally drove into a White House security barrier but did not breach it, and she was immediately apprehended and put under arrest, the U.S. Secret Service said.

No shots were fired and no law enforcement personnel were hurt, the Secret Service said in a statement.




Record Warmth to Continue in the Northeast

 
Record warmth looks set to continue in the South across the remainder of February with the Northeast alternating between the warm weather of recent days and chillier weather brought South from the Arctic.
 
The recent warm weather has been accompanied by a rising level of moisture and precipitation in the Deep South stretching north through the Plains into the lower reaches of the Northeast which will be a continuing trend across the weekend.
