CDC Coronavirus guidelines keep evolving
As the nation struggles to reopen and embrace a new normal, the Center For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released updated information regarding the already widely flouted set of guidelines. One such update, among others, drew sharp criticism for its perceived flip-flop is that coronavirus isn't easily spread by just touching a surface.

New York's Cuomo says businesses can turn away people not wearing masks

(Reuters) - New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said he would sign an executive order on Thursday authorizing businesses to deny entry to anyone who does not wear a mask or face covering, stressing masks were critical to preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus.

"We're giving the store owners the right to say if you're not wearing a mask, you can't come in. That store owner has a right to protect themselves, that store owner has a right to protect the other patrons in that store," Cuomo told a daily briefing.




U.S. investigators pursue 'robust' probe of Minneapolis black man's death

(Reuters) - The U.S. Department of Justice said on Thursday it had made an investigation into police involvement in the death of George Floyd a "top priority," after a second day of violent protests in Minneapolis over the unarmed black man's death.

Experienced prosecutors and investigators from the Federal Bureau of Investigation had been assigned as part of a "robust" probe into whether the police officers involved had violated federal laws, the department said in a statement.




CVS Health to open last of 1,000 drive-thru COVID-19 testing sites

(Reuters) - CVS Health Corp said on Thursday it would open more COVID-19 testing sites at some of its pharmacy drive-thru locations, completing the last leg of the drugstore chain's planned 1,000 sites across more than 30 U.S. states.

Health authorities have been emphasizing the need to expand testing capacity as the United States attempts to recover from the respiratory illness that has killed over 100,000 people in the country, according to a Reuters tally.
