The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Safety Inspection Service and Cargill Meat Solutions Corp. had announced they will recall 185,000 lbs of salmonella-tained ground turkey meat.
According to the FSIS, this recall is tied to a recall that happened earlier this year when 36 million pounds of ground trukey had to be removed from stores. One death and nearly 80 cases of food-borne illnesses were reported as a result of that recall.
No deaths or illnesses linked to this current recall have been reported. But the FSIS is warning people to take caution with meats processed at plant P-963. The P-963 designation can be found inside the USDA inspection mark on the products label.
