More U.S. Soldiers Deployed to the Middle East
The state of affairs between Iran and the United States has become more strained after the Pentagon approved the deployment of a thousand troops to the Middle East region.
On Monday, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that he will meet with military commanders to plan future operations amidst a climate of uncertainty in the flashpoint known as the Gulf of Oman, where American and Iranian naval forces are awaiting the arrival of the USS Lincoln aircraft carrier and battle group.
President Donald Trump plans to reach out to European leaders in an attempt to increase pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran, a country that plans to increase its uranium enrichment program, which could be used to manufacture nuclear warheads, in light of harsh economic sanctions imposed by the U.S.
Although the Trump administration has decided to abandon a deal whereby Iran abandoned its nuclear weapons ambitions, European Union leaders have decided to stick with the current plan for the purpose of avoiding hostilities.
Child Pornography Found in Controversial News Host's Electronic Files
Alex Jones, host of the contentious disinformation website Infowars, has threatened lawyers representing the families of victims who died in the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
According to Jones, the attorneys allegedly planted pornographic images of minors within the digital files he turned over as part of complying with a defamation lawsuit. At least one threatening statement was made by Jones before he offered a $1 million bounty in exchange for information that proves the pornographic images were planted by third parties.
Jones has issued a formal apology, but the aggrieved attorneys have already filed a formal accusation in court.
Masked Shooter Gunned Down in Texas Courthouse

A shoulder patch of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division was sewn to the shooter's fatigues.
NY Times Report Details Cyber Warfare Operations Between U.S. and Russia
According to a report published by The New York Times over the weekend, the United States has been targeting Russia's electrical power grid with malware attacks for the purpose of showing off cyber warfare capabilities.
The report prompted a response by a Russian official speaking on behalf on President Vladimir Putin, and the message was essentially a warning about the level of retaliation that could be expected.
An interesting aspect of the NYT report is that it suggests President Donald Trump may not have been fully briefed prior to the attacks.
