U.S. President Retains Authority to Attack Iran

As part of the current tensions between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, one concern among many lawmakers is that President Donald Trump does not have the proper temper that these situations call for; this is why 50 Senators voted to impose a measure that would have required Trump to get approval from Congress before launching a military strike against Iranian targets, but they did not succeed in this regard because such a measure would require 60 votes.

Notwithstanding this concern, the President has thus far shown restraint even after Iranian forces shot down a Navy surveillance drone in the Strait of Hormuz earlier this month.

Trump may enjoy having this power, but he has thoughtfully decided against using it, at least for the time being; in fact, he has always felt uncomfortable with the presence of American troops in the Middle East.

Groundbreaking Trade Agreement Reached Between South America and the European Union

It took two decades for European and South American negotiators to finally agree on a favorable market resolution to trade goods and services across the Atlantic, but the wait has been worth it.

Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay, the countries currently making up the MERCOSUR bloc, will be able to engage in advantageous trading with the EU, and more nations may be able to join in the future.

At a time when the United States and China are stoking the fires of the global trade war, the agreement between the EU and MERCOSUR is certainly hopeful, and this was clearly reflected by financial markets around the world closing the trading week with positive numbers.

In London, financial analysts believe that this development may entice the United Kingdom to put Brexit on ice or at least find a way to piggyback on the trade deal after leaving the EU.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Starts at $74,000

The Ford Motor Company shocked the automotive world last year by announcing that it would only focus on making trucks and SUVs for the American market, but there is an exception to this rule.

Ford will never give up on the Ford Mustang, and the new Shelby GT500 is a testament to this dedication. With 760 horsepower of pure American muscle, this new Mustang is one of the most powerful cars you can legally purchase and drive, but it will cost you at least $74,000 for the base model. The top trim level of the GT500 will set you back $100,000.

Should you want even more muscle, the 2020 Dodge Challenger Hellcat offers 797 horsepower, and it will cost you $76,000 for the base model.

Team USA Advances to FIFA Women's World Cup Semifinals

Megan Rapinoe scored two goals against France on Friday to put the United States Women's National Football Team closer to retaining their championship title.

There is at least one American fan who is not too thrilled with Rapinoe's scoring streak: President Donald Trump started a Twitter feud with the veteran striker after she mentioned that she will never visit the White House as long as he is in office, to which Trump suggested that Rapinoe should first win before talking trash.

According to sports journalists following Team USA, Rapinoe is fired up by the Twitter exchange and would like nothing more than winning the World Cup and turning down an invitation to the White House.
