Linking to an Image - In Depth

"When you Link to an Image, such as a Traffic or Weather Cam/Radar, you are seeing an everchanging image that refreshes automatically.  An example of this can be seen in any of the RADARS that are visible on VueTOO.  The correct way to link to an Image, is to (Right + Click) on Image, select 'Properties', copy image link (http://image.jpg) and then paste that link into the "Add Content" section."

There are many benefits to linking to an Image, but you have to be sure you're using it to the best of its abilities.  The point of linking to an Image is to have constantly refreshing/updating information streamed straight to your vueing pane.

Great uses of this are Traffic Camera Stills (which refresh about every 5 minutes) and Radar/Weather images. Follow the steps below to learn how to properly Link to an Image.

 Step One:  Locate the Image

For traffic cameras, you can either go to your State's Department of Transportation (DOT) Website, or your local city/news website.  For an example, we'll be using Jacksonville, Florida's city website.

Go to the Jacksonville, Florida website (CLICK HERE) to see some examples of Traffic Camera Images.

 Step Two:  Copy the Link

Click on the first thumbnail (I-95 @ Riverside Ave) and a small screen will pop up, displaying only the Image.

Right + Click with your mouse ON THE IMAGE and pick the "Properties" option.

Highlight the URL, using your mouse, and COPY the URL... you can either use Control + "C" or Right + Click on the highlighted URL and select "copy".

Step Three:  Adding the Image to your VueTOO

Go to "Add Content" and give the Image a descriptive name (such as the name of the intersection or city).  Select "Link to an Image" and PASTE the URL that you copied into the appropriate box.  Save.

 Step Four:  Vueing your Image

Go to "Customize" (upper right of screen) and you will see drop-down menus appear at the top of each vueing pane.  Scroll down until you see your newly added image.  Once you click on it, your whole VueTOO will refresh and voila, you have your Traffic Camera added.

Remember, your image will automatically refresh itself.

NOTE: You can also DELETE content by going to the "My Content" if you decide you no longer need that traffic cam, link, website, etc.
