U.S. Federal Agents investigate burning of election ballot boxes
In Oregon and Washington, police detectives and agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation are searching for suspects who set fire to ballot drop boxes before the November presidential election.

Election officials in the Vancouver district affected by the arson have requested 24-hour monitoring of ballot boxes. In Arizona last week, a 35-year-old resident of Phoenix was arrested after footage from a surveillance camera showed him setting fire to a mailbox marked for absentee ballot collection.

Former U.S. President's Campaign Event Ruined by Clueless Comedian

What was supposed to be a stellar campaign rally for former United States President Donald Trump turned into a political disaster on Sunday at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The crowded event featured many celebrities and keynote speakers who warmed up prospective voters before Trump stepped to the podium. Popular comedian Tony Hinchcliffe kicked things off with tone-deaf jokes such as calling Puerto Rico "an island of garbage" whose residents are mostly concerned with having sex. Hinchcliffe is a seasoned comedian known for his 1990s style of raw and unfiltered comedy, but rally attendees did not appreciate his jokes. The Trump campaign was forced to release a Monday morning statement to put some distance between Hinchcliffe and the former president; however, the political damage was strongly felt and dissected by news media outlets worldwide. American comedians who analyzed Hinchcliffe's ill-fated performance blamed the disaster on his failure to "read the room" despite being a veteran of the stand-up circuit; some even speculated that he secretly wanted to sabotage the event.
